I just came across a really interesting article that seems to validate what Joobili has known all along: when you go is more important than where you go. Yesterday leaders from the EU member countries voted in favor of a rotating holiday schedule whereby each country will be assigned 4 weeks of travel and citizens will be banned from traveling outside of their assigned dates. ”It just doesn’t make sense to have all of Europe traveling in July and August,” said current EU President Mirek Topolánek, who some believe is using the Timely Travel legislation to win back support in his home country of the Czech Republic where he recently lost the Prime Minister’s seat. The new law will boost travel in the Spring and Fall months, reduce waiting times at Europe’s most popular attractions, and encourage Europeans to experience new festivals and events they may not have otherwise attended. Each country will receive its new travel dates on April 1, 2010. This will definitely create some controversy, but luckily people can use Joobili to find plenty of travel-worthy inspirations. Read the full story here.
